Education: Bachelor of Arts / Science.
In 1982 succeeded her father as head of the Axel
Johnson Group, a diversified trading company
founded by her great-grandfather in 1873. The
privately held $12 billion (sales) group has
interests in everything from energy to telecom
to real estate. Axfood AB, in which it holds a
45% share, is one of the largest food operations
in Scandinavia. Attended Radcliffe College in
Cambridge, Mass. as an exchange student in the
early 1960s. Holds a master's degree in
psychology and business from the University of
Stockholm, a doctor of civil law degree from
Bishop's University in Canada and a doctor of
humane letters degree from Middlebury College of
Vermont. Avid horsewoman and a member of
numerous Swedish charities, including the World
Childhood Foundation, which was founded by the
Swedish queen.
